Our team

The people behind Population Explorer.

The engineers and data scientists who build the maps, models and data behind every territory you draw, led from Missoula, Montana.

Benjamin Winters

Benjamin Winters

CEO, Co-founder

Benjamin leads Population Explorer from Missoula, Montana. He has spent two decades building GIS and satellite data platforms in more than 25 countries and co-authoring peer-reviewed research on satellite-based targeting. His focus at PopEx is data usability: pinning down exactly what users need to know, then shaping the product so that insight lands.

Kyle Weaver

Kyle Weaver

Co-founder

Kyle co-founded Population Explorer and manages its projects, with a close eye on user experience. He built the commercial model and the process PopEx used to find product-market fit, then led the developer teams that built the PopEx API and this website. Along the way he has spoken with thousands of users, and their feedback still shapes the product.

Anton Kvit

Anton Kvit

Anton holds a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins, was a senior data analyst at its Spatial Science for Public Health Center and has spent five years helping teach graduate courses in spatial statistics and GIS. At Population Explorer, he focuses on data processing: transforming datasets, writing analysis scripts and reviewing the math.

Frazer Bwalya

Frazer Bwalya
